I crocheted 340 flowers total, making the blanket 17 flowers long and 20 flowers wide.

I made the flowers all at once without working the last row of the pattern (the one that turns it from a circle to a square). In order to have a variety of colors, I worked all of the colors (except Heather) evenly in the different rows. To keep track, I crocheted 4 different Row 1's in Lavender, then Row 2 on all 4 in Amethyst, then finished with a different color Row 3 in the remaining colors (Soft Rose, Rich Orchid, Arbor Rose, and Aqua). Then repeat with different colors.

For the last row of the pattern, I used only Heather and worked the stitches the same but used this join as you go method to connect all the flowers at once. The chart of the website is particularly useful. If you use this join as you go method, you'll need to plan ahead and place all of your flowers in your desired layout beforehand. I tried to distribute similar-looking flowers evenly throughout. For example, if the last row of a flower was Lavender, I surrounded it in flowers that had a last row that wasn't Lavender.
